Do Norwegian art, writing and music interest you?
Norway have since the Viking age had the urge to do storytelling and express themselves. Long dark winter nights, nordic lights, deep forests and rugged mountains created the stories about mountain trolls and Nordic mythology gods and giants. Around year 900 e.g. the pagan Eddaic poems emerged.
In more modern times iconic painter as Edvard Munch (the famous painting, The Scream) and the composer Edvard Grieg with his work “Peer Gynt, author Henrik Ibsen’s play “Dukkehjem” put Norway and in the world’s culture map. Not to forget the tv teenage drama serial “Skam” (Shame) that attracted the youngsters – and their parents.
Furthermore, the Svalbard Islands in the Arctic Sea get more and more attention these years with the international political focus and the positioning race in the Arctic Sea.
