Norway & the Arctic – its role in the International Landscape

After oil was found on the Norwegian part of the continental shelf in the 1960ies, it turned the small poor fishing and agriculture land with only 3 million inhabitants to one of the richest nations in the world. With a solid oil base, they are in an attractive position. In the global landscape e.g. they are not a member of EU, but have close cooperation, though, especially with the Scandinavian neighbours. Norway is a significant player in the fishing and petrochemical industry. Furthermore, the Svalbard Islands in the Arctic Sea get more and more attention these years with the international political focus and the positioning race in the Arctic Sea.  Also, a place where climate change is a hot topic. Let us set up meeting and site visits for you to meet locals for a discussion.
