Silversea on Christiansø

Silversea on Christiansø

Client’s Objective

Silversea wanted to enrich their Baltic itinerary with a unique stop far off the beaten path. The aim was to give guests a rare chance to experience the untouched nature, tranquil atmosphere, and rich history of Christiansø – Denmark’s easternmost island – within the short timeframe of a morning call.

BDP’s Solution

Planning began more than a year in advance to secure logistics for this remote destination. Final preparations were completed the day before by BDP’s Cruise Director on-site. At sunrise, the expedition ship Silver Wind anchored and guests were tendered ashore by Zodiacs. They were welcomed with coffee, tea, and pastries, accompanied by live accordion music.

The program combined flexibility and highlights: guided 45-minute walks in small groups with English-speaking guides, access to the historic “Store Tårn” and “Lille Tårn,” and time for independent exploration. Every detail, from catering to Zodiac scheduling, was carefully coordinated to create a smooth flow despite the remote setting.

Results

  • Over 200 guests brought ashore and re-embarked within 4.5 hours.
  • Four guided departures executed precisely on time.
  • Guests praised the sunrise arrival, live music, and peaceful island atmosphere as highlights of their expedition.

This case showed BDP Cruise’s ability to transform an isolated outpost into a seamless and unforgettable guest experience.
