Jægersborggade

Have you already seen the typical tourist attractions and are looking for something else? If you’re seeking an afternoon away from the crowded touristy areas, the trendy and edgy Nørrebro neighbourhood around Jægersborggade might be just right for your group.

Helle Rosborg from BDP Cruise is particularly fond of the area because:

“It’s so cool – small designer shops and coffee shops, restaurants and a few little factories making all kinds of sweets. It’s so nice there. The streets Elmegade and Birkegade close by are also great for shopping clothes, shoes and furniture.”

The neighbourhood aims to inspire and surprise with its 40 speciality shops. BDP can plan a visit for your group at Karamelleriet to experience the old-fashioned production of handmade caramels, or, for a more hands-on experience, we will organize a visit to RO Chokolade, where your group can make their own traditional, Danish ‘Flødeboller’ at the chocolate factory. We will have to warn you, though; RO Chokolade’s lime ganache and apple-cinnamon marzipan are addictive.

To arrange your group’s visit to Jægersborggade and the surrounding area, please call Ebbe Kiær on +45 33 45 45 11 or contact him by e-mail at: ek@bdp.dk.

Copenhagen Street Food

Taste an organic beer from Danish micro-breweries at “Stormly” or – for the hungry ones – enjoy a steak marinated in cider for 24 hours at the Berlin-siblings’ Comptoir du Cidre. Here your group can visit the 25 food trucks, stalls and containers for lunch, or spend an afternoon or evening with the local Copenhageners in an international atmosphere.

Copenhagen Street Food is located on Papirøen, next to charming Christianshavn and the old hippie-village Christiania. Just opposite is the Royal Theatre, and across the canal, you see the Opera; this venue offers one of the best views of the harbour. The venue is suitable for groups of all sizes; if you are seeking a casual, cosy place right at the centre of the city, Copenhagen Street Food is the place to go.

It is a great place for groups to sit back and relax while enjoying the view of the harbour with a cold, organic juice and a platter of charcuterie, while others might prefer having a seat inside at one of the food stalls, tasting Il Matarello’s homemade fresh pasta, or yakatori at the Japanese street kitchen, Yatai.

The high season begins on April 20. Want to know more about Copenhagen Street Food and how we can plan your visit? Please call Ebbe Kiær on +45 33 45 45 11 or contact him by e-mail at :ek@bdp.dk.

Nomination: Ebbe Kiær, Event Planner of the Year

Ebbe Kiær, our Director of Sales in the Event & Incentive department, has been nominated Event Planner of the Year at the Danish MPI Awards 2015, held in Copenhagen on April 9. Here are some of Ebbe’s recommendations for your next event or incentive in Scandinavia.

  • My Favourite Spot: Tjuvholmen, Oslo
The newly developed area ‘Tjuvholmen’ is known for its beautiful canals and impressive, modern architecture. It has so much to offer; this is where you find the exciting designer hotel ‘The Thief’, next to the famous Astrup Fearnley Museum. A wide variety of art galleries is found in this neighbourhood, and the renowned restaurant ‘Fru K’, featured in this year’s Michelin guide, is located at The Thief.
  • My Favourite Activity: Rooftop Tour, Stockholm
Stockholm is one of the only places in the world where it’s possible to go on a guided rooftop tour. It is a historical and adventurous experience, where breathtaking views of Stockholm’s skyline and lakes are guaranteed. Participants are secured to the roofs of the buildings and can explore the city from above.
  • My Favourite Hotel: d’Angleterre, Copenhagen
Hotel d’Angleterre dates back to 1755 and was refurbished in 2013, adding 55 luxurious rooms to the existing 35. Over the years it has accommodated international celebrities as well as famous Danes such as H.C. Andersen. D’Angleterre’s restaurant ‘Marchal’ has a Michelin star, and the champagne bar ‘Balthazar’ offers a selection of over 200 champagnes.

BDP Recommends: Luleå, Sweden

Looking for a Nordic Adventure?

Whether you are in the mood for a husky sleigh ride, a snow scooter trip or a gala dinner on the ice under the waves of the colourful Aurora Borealis, Luleå in the Swedish Lapland is the place to go for a Nordic Adventure. If you are fond of music, a visit during the absolutely unique ‘Ice Music’ season is recommended – as the name indicates, it is music played on ‘ICEstruments’ and in an ICEconcerthall with a temperature of -5°C.

The BDP team headed north for an exciting Kick Off trip in the cosy, Swedish winter landscape. When asked about the best Nordic Adventure in Luleå, BDP answered:

“We stopped for lunch along the way on the snow scooter trip. It was freezing, -12°C, and our reindeerblanket had frozen to ice – but the fireplace made it warm and cosy!”
– Nick Courtney, Key Account Manager

”We were in the sauna for 5-10 minutes, and then went to roll in the snow – then back into the sauna. I mostly stayed in the hot tub afterwards, but Henrik rolled in the snow many times – he was brave!”
– Nathalie Lambert, Event & Meeting Designer

”Luleå is something you never forget. And the food was amazing, we ate reindeer and moose meat.”
– Kamma Dal, Project Manager, Cruise

Offering plenty of activities, there is always something to do. Compared to other popular destinations in the region, Luleå is authentic.

Furthermore, Luleå is known for its UNESCO World Heritage Site; you must not miss “Gammelstad Kyrkstad” while you are there. At the centre of the Middle Age village is a 15th century church, surrounded by 424 huts for the worshippers that used to travel far for church service.

You can fly from Stockholm to Luleå in just 1 hour
